In this installment of Saga of the Spider Clan old Honaw tells the children the story of the village of Taavo. Three clans lived in Taavo: The Spider, Rabbit and Water Clans. The Spider Clan followed the teachings of Sun Father and lived a good and balanced life. The Rabbit and Water Clans allowed greed and pleasure to lead them down the path of evil. They paid dearly for their sins. The Spider Clan fled Taavo before the wrath of Sun Father descended upon the village, but the resulting conflagration threatened to overtake them. Once again Spider Grandmother stepped in to save her children.
